London calling.
Arte Británico hoy.
De David Hockney a Idris Khan.

This exhibition showed the works of contemporary British artists from different generations whose artistic work has been greatly influenced by the city of London. Almost all of the pieces came from art galleries and private institutions located in London and Paris. They showed the works of about twenty artists, including Anish Kapoor, David Hockney, Annie Morris, Tony Gragg, Damien Hirst, Phyllida Barlow, Sean Scully, etc.

ART i CLAR took charge of managing the transportation with nail-to-nail insurance, and of setting up and dismantling the exhibition at the Bancaja Foundation’s exhibition venue in Valencia. This involved logistical complexity due to the number and variety of international works on loan, and due to a historical event: the United Kingdom leaving the Customs Union, coming into force on 1st January 2021, a few months before the inauguration.

This in turn meant we had to deal with customs procedures that until then had not existed for artworks coming from that country. The varied types of works (sculptures, tapestries, mixed media paintings) as well as the difficulty of handling some of the pieces called for different techniques to assemble them and continual advice and communication with the artists or the Courriers’ Galleries throughout the process.
